What type of tests do you offer?

Canadian Health Labs offers all types of COVID-19 diagnostic tests, such as PCR, antibody and antigen. Our swabs and testing machines have been approved by Health Canada.

Where do tests take place?

We offer three types of services: mobile, online and in-person at our Toronto clinic located at 121 King Street West. We also work with a number of affiliate pharmacies and clinics.

Depending on the type of test, a healthcare professional will either perform the testing in-person on site (e.g. PCR Nasopharyngeal COVID-19 Test) or supervise the sample collection virtually via Zoom (e.g. PCR Saliva COVID-19 Test).

What laboratories do work with?

At Canadian Health Labs, we work with certified laboratories that deploy only Health Canada approved equipment.

Who should get tested?

Our services are accessible to any asymptomatic patients who may need it for a variety of reasons: travel or workplace clearance, scheduled testing of the entire workforce team, or simply peace of mind. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please go to a public health assessment centre.

Can my child get tested?

Children of ages 2-16 can be tested by our healthcare professionals as long as there is parental or guardian consent. Additionally, a parent or guardian must be on-site during testing). Please note, children under 2 years of age cannot be tested.

How do I access my PCR test results?

Once the PCR samples are received by the lab, the results will be ready within 48 hours and sent to your email.

I’ve been tested, what are the next steps?

Once the PCR samples are received by the lab, the results will be ready within 48 hours. Our goal is getting your results back to you as quickly as possible. Should the results wait time exceed 2 days – please know that Canadian Health Labs is doing everything we can to obtain your results as fast as possible. How will I be notified of my results?

Each patient is provided with a unique verification code and login instructions to check their results online. Blind and visually impaired patients as well as patients who do not have access to a computer will be contacted directly by our healthcare team. Patients with hearing impairments will be provided an email address for any follow up questions they may have.

At Canadian Health Labs, we care about your privacy. All of our partners (accredited Ontario Medical Laboratories) have pre-existing technology to ensure secure communication.

What should I do if I test positive?

In case you test positive, you should self-isolate and follow Ontario Public Health’s directions. Remember, you may test positive even if you don’t experience any symptoms. Canadian Health Labs is required by-law to send all positive cases to Public Health.

Can employers see the results of their employees?

For an employer to be notified whether an employee needs to self-isolate, each employee has to sign a waiver. 

My results arrived late. Will I be reimbursed?

Canadian Health Labs works with multiple certified laboratories and is not responsible for delays in laboratories’ processing times. By using our services, patients agree and acknowledge that Canadian Health Labs is not responsible for delays and cannot provide any reimbursement. Delays are not common but when they do occur, Canadian Health Labs will work with our partnering laboratories to deliver the results as fast as possible.

What is your appointment cancelation policy?

Due to the overgrowing demand for COVID-19 testing, we don't offer refunds and any cancellations will be charged the full booking fee.

What are the payment terms for purchased products?

All products must be paid for in full before delivery can take place. Request a quote by emailing us at info@canadianhealthlabs.com. Quotes will be honoured for up to 12 hours.

 The Patient accepts any risks associated with the transfer of their health information through electronic methods (ie. a possible leak, hack, breach in security, etc.). The Patient understands that they will only be notified if they receive a positive result in addition to Public Health being notified (by law). The Patient will be required to be tested again for verification at an official testing centre via the Nasopharyngeal method and self-isolate as directed by Public Health if they receive a positive result. The Patient understands that with any form of current testing, there is a chance of a false negative or false positive result and the Patient will continue to adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols in compliance with Public Health protocols regardless of their test results, and render Canadian Health Labs and Canadian Health Labs’ Health Canada approved / accredited Ontario Medical lab partners harmless of any damage or harm should a false result be reported.
